But it is here I stand. Written by Ash Cooper in Laugharne, Carmarthenshire.
Colours of green, yellow and red,
Glistening waters ripple ahead,
Hilltops shine and mudbanks creek.
But it is here I stand, against the wind.
Birds call out and whistle their song,
Afraid to look or linger on,
Cold air blows from the trees to the sea,
But it is here I stand, against the tide.
One last time, I look upon this view,
Anxiety sleeps for now out of view,
I alone cannot change this fate,
But it is here I stand, against the thoughts.
A poem inspired by Dylan Thomas, 22.08.24.
