Book review - Tim Peake

Book Review - Tim Peake Space. 16.04.25 update

After getting back into reading, I picked up this book by Tim Peake on his experiences in space.  It combined scientific history with lots of facts and features about space flight which were detailed and informative.  Tim Peake also talked about his own experiences which made the entire read more personal, making you feel part of the adventure. There were lots of information on crew selection criteria and how pilots and scientists worked together to achieve a common goal.  There were also some interesting facts about Neil Armstrong and how he was literally the most laid back man in the room with a less than perfect education.  In terms of criticisms, some of the history of space flight went into too much detail and got boring in parts.  From a reader perspective, it didn't flow particularly well which was a shame.

Conclusion:  A well thought out book with lots of interesting facts and features.  What it lacks in addictiveness and fluidity, it makes up for in Tim's detailed descriptions of experiences in space.  Tim Peak's previous titles are still the benchmark, but if you enjoy reading about space flight and history this book is a must.  Recommend 7/10.
